Do you mean the radiator brace?

Yup, that's it.

Here's the scratch built stinger. Haven't done anything else to it, since I've been working on other rigs.

I know the others have already stated this, but I have to affirm that this is an awesome job of weathering.

Love the rust! By the way, we are NEVER 100% satisfied! That's why we keep working on them. Will be watching this one for sure!

Very nice truck!!, can you give some info about the weathering??, what kind of paint did you use??

This Belgian Autocar was seen in the mid 90`s, nearly in the same shape as your project....

I use all acrylic paints aside from the metalizers. It's essentially just tons of layering. I'll try to write up a tutorial to my process soon.

Figured I'd throw up some pictures so you guys could see what mischief I've gotten up to. Let this one sit for a while, and decided on a slightly different direction.

Over on The Truckstop Gator suggested pit fenders to get around my "rusted fiberglass." I was resistant because I didn't have any pit fenders to put on it. After having it sit for a while I decided I'd do what any logger would do. Improvise.

Built the fenders from scratch intentionally making it look like a patch job. You only barely make it out, since I just used my phone to take the pics, but I used putty to make weld lines.

When it's done everything that's black will be the same red as the frame with rust throughs.

I like old trucks. You've done some nice work restoring an old piece to an even older appearance!

LOVING this one!

Does this kit have the same cab as the Diamond Reo and Western Star kits? It seems awfully familiar.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, For a time White owned both Diamond Reo and Autocar, and Western Star was the east coast portion of White. At that time they all used the same cab. Several AMT kits used this cab. because of that. It's found in the Autocar kits, Diamond Reo, Road Boss and White Western Star. Might be some others that I'm forgetting.

I have a tutorial ready. I'll post it up soon.

Building the steps. It's just hanging there with blu tack for now, and the phone pic washed out most of the detail.

Man, this plastic truck is rustier than a real one that's been at a scrapyard for 30 years! Your rust is really convincing!

Pic's a bit washed out again. I'll try to get some better lit pics tomorrow.

Scratch building front bumper and grill guard. Close to finished with this part.

The pic may be washed out, but I like it. Maybe not the best image for showing your progress, but it has a kind of 'arty' feel to it. Almost looks like a painting.
