1948 Ford Convertible

I know I already have a thread in this section but I am having paint issues with my 1939/40 sedan so have moved on to this.

I combined the fadeaway fenders from the recently issued 1948 coupe with the convertible kit from a few years ago and modified the front to accept one of the custom grills. This is the result so far. I'm not totally satisfied with the bodywork/paint but I'm on a learning curve here. Looks better in the photos ;)

The coupe chassis/suspesion is lowered at the rear and the engine with speed equipment is from the convertible. Not the usual powerplant for a custom so this may be changed for a regular flathead.

Views/comments welcome.

Paul, looks good so far, I am not really into cars from this era, but that looks good, what color is that, I am guessing that is painted through A/B

Thanks Jonathan. The paint is my usual Tamiya straight from the can, it's Anodised Blue from the "PS" range sprayed over a gloss black base. Still haven't summoned the courage to use my airbrush :unsure:

You have skills for using a spray can, I am with you on the Air Brush. Oh yea off topic, but I got the Aston Martin kit today to add to the CBP

Nothing wrong with speed equipment on a custom. Flaws be damned (not that I can see any), I think it's a great example of good style and natural kitbashing. I really dig it.

Real nice looking Ford! I do dig the tri-power flathead. It fits with the custom bodywork.
