hotrodblder Posted April 5, 2012 I bought this kit a month ago with an upcoming contest in my sights. The theme of the contest being 'Fins & Chrome'. I thought this would be a fairly good kit & an 'out of the box' entry from everything else, no pun intended. I couldn't wait to see what was in the box, so as with all little kids, I opened the box as soon as I got in the car. To my surprise, it was a curbside/promo kit. Needless to say I was a bit upset. I just put everything back in the box and drove it all the way back home from KC to Salina. I let it set in the box for about a week & finally decided what to do with it for the contest. I had watched a lot of how to videos & put what I had learned to the test. Please take a look at my pics & let me know what you think & how you think I might do this Saturday at the contest. Oh, & Doc, thanks for the education. Now on with the pics:

Dr. Cranky Posted April 5, 2012 Love it, LONG LIVE RUST and everything else. I love the headliner work. Very nice.
crazyjim Posted April 5, 2012 Not my kind of build, but I agree with doc - the headliner looks terrible, as does the interior. And I mean that in a good way.
crazyjim Posted April 5, 2012 Ouch. That hurts, Chuck.
Hoosierfarmboy Posted April 5, 2012 This is probably the status of my old '61 Starliner if it's not crushed already. Good job.
Kodiak Island Modeler Posted April 5, 2012 That's a very nice job on the weathering. I remember some cars that looked like that and were still being driven.

hotrodblder Posted April 5, 2012 (edited) Thanks for all of the positive words guys. I've looking forward to showing it off this week end & seeing what kind of attention it'll get. There aren't usually to many builds like this that show up at our show. Edited April 5, 2012 by hotrodblder
