'57 Ford Country Squire

I've wanted to build one of these for a long time but never being able to afford an original revell kit (even a glue bomb built up) I scraped together the change and went ahead and got the Modelhaus transkit as a starting point. A Revell Ranchero fills in the rest of the parts as well as my parts box and an AMT 57 T-Bird kit.

I used tape and Silly Putty to mask around the frame rails and fuel tank

Hubcaps and valve covers are from an AMT 57 T-Bird. The tires are from a Lindberg 53 Ford.

Glad you posted the longroof on MCM ,Ron.

I was following this build on TRaK and then poof!

Now I can follow along with this one as I'm building

a 59 Country Sedan wagon myself.

James aka Joker

I stopped posting this one on TRaK because it's leaning mostly to a factory stock style. Good luck with your 59! I'll be looking for it.

I got a little more done on the longroof this weekend. The 312 is finished and set in the frame and I attached the wheels and tires to check overall sit and stance.

That about finishes up the chassis.

I used the more detailed air cleaner from the AMT Fairlane 500 kit and I was concerned about hood clearance. A quick mock up shows it fits! :D

I also sprayed a little Alclad chrome on the dash and steering wheel.

As always comments and question welcome. B)
