Dr. Cranky
Wow, what a surprise to find two at the LHS, and so I bought them and brought them home, of course. Stay tuned in for an unboxing video. To WATCH THE VIDEO, CLICK Edited April 24, 2012 by Dr. Cranky

Scuderia
i can't do vids here at work is there any stock suspension included or just lowrider stuff?
Rob Hall
Looks like it's a straight reissue of the 1st release..lowrider only.
Dr. Cranky
Lawrence, there are two front suspension parts that come with this kit. One is chromed and the other is high-low. I'll have to go back through and inspect it further.
The70judgeman
Been waiting for this one for some time. Need to find some non-lowrider wire rims and white wall tires though. The rest of the hydro junk will go bye-bye too.
Dr. Cranky
Andy, now that you mention wide white tires, I think the MODELHAUS has some great contenders to make this one stand out.
RickRollerLT1
Looks like it's a straight reissue of the 1st release..lowrider only. Isin't this the DONKS Cadillac Custom last seen 4yrs ago, but with new lowrider parts? Does anyone know the history of this kit?
The70judgeman
@Doc-I might try to aquire a set of tires and the Kelsey Hayes rims from that new Moebius Chrysler kit. Although, they might be too skinny. Edited April 25, 2012 by The70judgeman
RickRollerLT1
BTW, I think I still have some parts from the Donks version of this I built some time ago. I heard the suspension components from the '93 Caprice/94 Impala SS will adapt without too much work for a normal hight/stock version. This kit looks like a re-issue as mentioned before. The donk kit had a different interior, suspension, and tires/rims.
Erik Smith
I just sold the last release of that kit on eBay - surprised when it went for $48! I guess some people don't watch the "to be released" Revell announcements. It's an interesting kit overall - I believe it's based on a diecast? Wish it had a stock option, but still cool none the less.
larrygre
This kit first appeared as a builtuip diecast. This is its third goaround as a plastic kit.
Dr. Cranky
Thanks, everyone, for the input. I just love these big cars because they make great canvasses for paint. This one should be a fun one to build.

The Donks was the 2nd styrene issue..before that, there was a Revell Lowrider series issue. Before that, it was a diecast.
martinfan5
This is what I dont like about Revell, why issue this kit or kits like it in these series, and donk series, with out a stock option, to me its just dumb, it just sucks for us that want it to be stock. So lets see, they have done this as a donk / low rider, whats next for this kit?, tuner series
Scuderia
whats next for this kit?, tuner series Never know lol, be our luck they include their best version of 'tuner' wheels yet.

It's an unusual kit, an '80-84 Coupe de Ville w/ '90-92 Brougham trim...such cars do exist in 1:1, built as custom lowriders. I'd love to see either a stock Coupe de Ville or Brougham kitted, but am not holding my breath..(neither the CdV or Brougham pictured below has the stock grille). martinfan5
I did not know that, I have not got one of thses kits yet, I did not know the body was differently for low riders
Rob Hall
I'm thinking of doing one Pro Touring style, kind of like this...
martinfan5
That would be cool, but you know Rob, you would have to build it
Rob Hall
That would be cool, but you know Rob, you would have to build it I've made notes... Have an LS engine and Pegasus wheels. But, yes, to actually build it is another thing.. I'm not sure if I have modeler's block, too busy, or if I just spend too much time online... martinfan5
So it sounds like you are starting to plan this one out, what kit is the LS from that you are going to use, I have not used any of the pegasus wheels and tires sets, there are few that I like Edited April 25, 2012 by martinfan5

martinfan5
If you are going pro touring then yes I agree no white walls
