n8dogginz
So ive googled it several times, but i cant find any good website to find some 1/12 models...id love to start one but idk where to start looking. Can anyone point me in the right direction of selection?!? Thanks:D
Casey
The Revell Shelby GT500 Mustang is the easiest to find right now, but the Monogram '69 Camaro Z/28, '67 Vette 427, and '57 Bel Air are easily found on eBay and similar sites, not to mention right here in the Swap/Trade or Wanted sections of the forum. Trumpeter's GT40 kit is still not too hard to find, and there are other mostly Japanese and European subjects from Tamiya, too.
cobraman
As Casey said, in this case ebay will be your friend. Just watch out for thr shipping charges, they can be brutal. Good luck. I would like to add that the Shelby is a very nice kit.
futurattraction
Something else to keep in mind is if you go after the GT500 Mustang, if you've got any local Hobby Lobby stores, you can often print out a 40% off coupon and drastically cut the cost of the kit. sjordan2
Here's a bookmark that I frequently refer to regarding what's happening in 1/12 on eBay. It changes all the time, and today it's a bit heavy on aftermarket parts. Be careful when you see prices in italics - those are from overseas. http://www.ebay.com/...188,220&_sop=10 Don't be tempted by two of the most ridiculously bad 1/12 kits I've ever seen: The Mercedes 300SL Gullwing boxed by Renwal, Revell and Monogram, and the Ferrari 275 GTB by Renwal and Revell. They're so inaccurate and sloppily produced, they give Palmer kits a good name. Even if you could get them free, you'd never build them. Casey
You can't go wrong with the current Revell Shelby GT500 kit- for $45 ($55 or so delivered to your door) it's a steal, and it goes together easily. For anyone's "first" 1/12 (or big scale for that matter), it'd be tough to beat.
