Jared Roach
I'm trying to get back to building after playing around with the 1:1. I wanted to build a muscle car since I'm board with the newer stuff that I have been building so I picked out amt's Fast and the furious 1970 Monte Carlo. Plans are a black on black with black vinyl top and keystone style wheels. Just a clean looking muscle car. Thanks for looking.
62rebel
perfect '70's stance and wheels.... almost as if Chevy sold them that way!
bbowser
Very cool. I had a 1:1 and your plan sounds just like where I wanted to go with it, but I ended up selling it before it was finished. I'll be watching with interest.

Davewilly
I like the look of it so far. I love the first gen Montes. I had one for awhile...Here is a picture of the model I built of the 1:1 I had. I didnt get the real one painted but this was to be the color of it. I am re doing a new body for the model with the photo ecthed set and a vinyl top with the modeling around it. Maybe some time I will get it finished. Cant wait to you yours done. Might push me to get it back out.
Jared Roach
Thanks guys! Here's what I have accomplished today: Filled the seam on the transmission half's: engine painted and chassis mock up: Got the suspension set the way I want, now to focus on the body. I'm going for a nice looking driver but is dirty and grimy underneath.
charlie8575
Not bad, Jared. I usually don't do the high-rider rear ends, but I like the basic concept of what you're doing. Certainly an improvement over the F&F depiction. Charlie Larkin
MachinistMark
Whered the rear tires come from?
Casey
Whered the rear tires come from? Those look like the wheels and tires from the AMT Baldwin-Motion '70 Camaro kit. Jared, you're gonna need some Gabriel Hi-Jacker air shocks back there to allow the rear tires to clear the wheel arches.
Nick Notarangelo
I did that kit when it first came out in the 90's,what a sweet kit,im going to check back on this one. nice job so far.

cobraman
As an old fart I like to see the rear ends up in the air once in a while.
Jared Roach
Thanks everyone! As for the tires they are from a die cast Chevy vega. I'm going for a real old school look.
Jared Roach
So I started the vinyl top, and as you can see it still needs more work but it's a start. Also gonna pop the trunk open on this build. I'm really liking this build so far!
Scuderia
That's lookin real cool so far good idea with the top. I've been debating if i wanted to add this kit to my to do list. You're doin super
Jared Roach
Thanks man. It is a pretty good kit, but I imagine the stock one is even better.
Jared Roach
So I got the top pretty much finished and cut out the trunk. Now it needs some hinges and jambs. Also filling in some minor spots and then paint!
Scuderia
That's lookin pretty mean there. good stuff!
Tom Setzer
I like it with those large tyres and five spokes!
62rebel
that jacked up rear is how 90% of the hopped up cars looked in the '70's....yup; some Hi-Jackers need to be under there.... couple of Thrush Mufflers... and a Holley Carbs decal in the rear window. Jared Roach
Not much of an update, been quite busy lately. Did get the roof almost finished (added seam overlap on roof), and also flocked the floor. Hopefully get it in some paint soon!
