Scale-Master
One of my all-time favorite Corvettes. Amazing design from 1959 that holds its own even today. Not the best kit, nor the most accurate by a long shot, but still a fun build and it looks good on the shelf. Old resin kit by Starter in 1/43rd scale. Straight out of the box except for the rear view mirror faces I made from Mylar and a gear shifter made from a straight pin. I made a jig to bend the wings of the knock-offs out equally. Terry Sumner
Wonder if anyone ever burned their leg getting out of that car.......
FEENIX
I'm sure they did considering my wife burned hers when she got out of a 75 vette she once had with side pipes. I don't think that one would be any exception.
CorvairJim
Too bad this model was never available in 1:24/1:25 scale. I don't build in smaller or larger scales, since I like the uniformity of size of my models on display that having them all in the same scale provides. This is one model that might persuade me to break my self-imposed rule - it's a gorgeous car.
Mike Kucaba
Nice build of one of my favorites. Got about halfway on one of mine. It sits in a box for now. Just think how much influence Elvis had, as this car was sprayed red for opening scenes in one of his movies.

Just think how much influence Elvis had, as this car was sprayed red for opening scenes in one of his movies. Elvis had no input as to the design. It was used in Clambake in 1967, but it was Bill Mitchell's (1959) design and personal ride before that.
Ace-Garageguy
That is really a beauty. I've wanted to hack a 1/25 version of this car from a stock kit for a long time. Yours looks so good I'm inspired to move that one up on the list. Gorgeous model.

Of course Elvis had no input into the design, I was referring to the ability to get to use it in the movie. Also according to a book I have on concept Corvettes thru the years,Larry Shinoda did the design for Mitchell.
bbowser
Nice model. It's amazing how many design elements from that made it into production in 1963-67.
