topher5150 Posted October 19, 2012 Share Posted October 19, 2012 (edited) This is my attempt at making a 1968 Shelby G.T.350 convertible. I called it Frankenstein's Shelby because it's made up of three kits. I used the body, tires and interior from the 68 Shelby GT500 kit, the platform, suspension, engine, transmission, and GT350 stripes from the 67 GT350, and the trunk from a 68 Mustang Coupe. I have the rear kick panels from the 68 coupe attached to the door panels from the 68 Shelby To be true to what I'm building I swapped out the 428 for the 302 (which is the 289 from the 67 Shelby). The air filter wasn't fitting right so I used some plastic stock to remedy it after I cut the seats from the center counsel I didn't like how low they were sitting so I put some round stock under them to make it look better Edited October 19, 2012 by topher5150 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

topher5150 Posted October 26, 2012 Author Share Posted October 26, 2012 This is the first shot of red (Italian Red) you cant see it but the primer is still visible in some of the deeper areas (door jambs, around the scoops etc...) As some of you have seen in the Q&A post about repainting a modle...well that that's the one the 56 Ford Panel Van. The door decals were already layed out to where they needed to be on the door panel. I didnt think about that on the first door panel and cut it out piece by piece.
