What did you get today? (Model Car Related Items)

All within the past couple days.

Got my second Raven. Never been used. The foam had deteriorated into chunks and dust so I will need to replace it. Came with spare parts, in the plastic bag. That's great as these brushes, and parts for them, are hard to come by. Second pic is the pair.

These were a two reason purchase. I found this Paasche model H fairly cheap. Since I have a bunch of H parts I bought it because it has the stipple knob built into the trigger which matches a Paasche F that I have. The stipple knobs are usually located in front of the trigger. The only parts that came with this one was the brush shell, the handle and an extra air cap. The rest are from my spares.

I found the second one in really great shape so I bought it. The case interior is pristine. It also came with the instructions.

And this is the other reason I bought them both

It may be silly me but I'm figuring that these were numbered in sequential order. I bought them because the serial numbers are so close together. Yes, I will be looking for number 25422.

I'm fairly certain these are from the 1940s. I know the cup in the fist pic is a newer one. It was from my spares.

Wow Jim, having two Ravens is quite the achievement!  It is hard for me to tell, but are they a side-feed or a siphon-feed design?

Getting two Paasche brushes with close to side-by-side numbers is probably a once in a lifetime purchase. I'm thinking you have read this already, but I included a link to the brief history description on Paasche's website. It seems they were located in Chicago proper when the company first started. These two brushes must be from those beginnings.

They are side feed Bill. The parts on the one on the left are for attaching to the Chameleon. It was a tank system that held 9 colors. Good idea, wasn't that great of a set up. It was a flop. There is one on eBay, extremely over-priced, missing a few things.

These are from the 1970s I believe. They have a needle limiter built into the back of the handle. This was long before other companies started putting them on. It has now become "vogue" but the Raven had it decades ago.

The H brushes were cool to find. Once I noticed how close the serial numbers were I had to buy them both. Paasche began in the beginning of the 1900s. These 2 Hs look to be from the '40s. I now have a number of Paasche brushes from this era. Have a VL coming soon. It's from the same 1940s time period.

Was out today and home by 1:00 and the sun sure makes a difference..Check AccuWeather..Its  from the US but is accurate to almost the hour..Not like the Canadian weather stuff..

Almost to the hour. Pretty good but if you want real time weather check this link.

Worldwide network of weather hobbyists home stations linked up on the net plus radar, etc. Looks like there's around a dozen home stations just in Winnipeg.

You'll have to set it for your area but it's up to the minute.

I'm waiting on Scott too. He tells me he won't have any more until the border opens up without test, etc.

He used to go across the border to pick up shipments from various suppliers every Monday but that's out of the question for now.

Just picked this up from my kid Sister today, Dad and I gave this to her for Mother’s Day 2020 and she started having issues with the roller on the right side and bought the next Gen on sale with the money she got for Christmas since they had a fantastic sale on it.  I’m going to see what it might take to fix the roller problem and use it for my models and R/Cs! Sounds like a known issue and Cricut has been dealing with the problem, so J’ll probably contact them first.

Was in the next town over so I thought I'd see if their Hobby Lobby had any kits my local doesn't. No luck on that. But I've been looking for a "Faun" paint (a very light, gray-ish tan) for the interiors of a couple AMT '62 Novas I'm working on, and found some Krylon Satin Pebble that's as close as anything I've seen. It should do. Looked for a red Sharpie, also no joy, but found a Deco Color fine-tipped chrome pen for $5--cheaper than Molotow. Also picked up a couple little bottles of Testor Orange to touch up one of those '62 Novas. All in all, it was worth the stop.

Pat, I wasn't aware that you sold the Chevy.

Yes, I sold it in 2019. The maintenance was getting to me and where I lived you couldn't drive it on the highway. I have mixed emotions about it. I could certainly enjoy it more here, however I would be in a storage situation as I do not have a garage anymore.
