The AMT Mercedes was a pleasant surprise as was the MPC '56 Corvette, both picked up at a great price. Bought a few bagged kits but they're not pictured. I remember taking it to my aunt and uncle’s farm and filling it with the chicken feed. The chickens were very concerned! Lol! Wish I still had it. Btw what is the scale of the Cris Craft? What's been done is fairly tiday, so after I've pulled the engine might finish it off as a kerbside display piece. The book and catalgoue were found at a 1:1 car meet yesterday. That era is peak Monogram for me, it contains what I remember being in the model shops when I started getting interested in kits. Paid for a table, sold more than I bought, and even brought home more money than I started with. 😃 I brought home this 1/12 Camaro, misc 1/8 stuff, a 1/43 white metal kit (talk about extremes), resin Chrysler 300 wagon body. A couple bagged 39 ford sedans, 40 convertible, and CJ7. There was also a silent auction. One of the founding members of the model club that puts on the show, died earlier in the year. To help raise money for the widow, they grouped together lots comprised of four models each, all built by the gentleman who passed away. I won two lots. The first eight pics are of the ones I brought home. It was announced at the end of the show that over $1700 was raised through the silent auction. There are four or five different sizes and shapes in the assortment. I couldn't pass it up, for $20, shipped. It got here in two days, too! The Chris Craft is 1/56 scale, I'm assuming a box scale as Revell was known to do back then! Like you I had the Hubley Model A's when I was a kid. Chose these for myself from the swap meet… This bag of ‘Mopar parts’ for $5 was actually a complete-but-for-tires Revell 29 pickup kit: Very lightly started, but not VERY started… Picked this up, because I’d been watching for one - complete bagged AMT BTTF Delorean kit…I have an Aoshima (I think?) kit of the third-movie car, so it’ll be interesting to see how the two compare… Even came with a little green tube of grease for a working whatever must need grease… And I always enjoy digging thru the bins of parts - grabbed a bunch of seats, tires, geegaws and a bunch of molded-in-green radiators that were worth paying 50 cents for probably: And I was lucky enough to take a couple of class wins, which came with kits as prizes too: They were also kind enough to gift me a $25 gift card for the local hobby store, G&G Hobbies…plus a couple of these gorgeous acrylic display cases / stands from the second event sponsor PF Plastics: And finally, a nice cutting mat to replace the little 11” on my bench currently: I’m a lucky guy! I came away with a lot more models for the money. I bought 2 for $17 for the pair. $40 worth of raffle tickets netted me 12 more kits before I gave the rest of the tickets away to a couple of kids. I felt bad, but I out bid you on one of the lots. The 66 Chevelle wagon was so sweet I could not pass it up. He was a really prolific builder. In the show, I managed to get ribbons on 4 of the 10 entries I brought.
