What did I get today ? Screwed is what I got . Ordered this kit on eBay because I always liked it . Listing claimed complete and in new condition . Today I got the bag of parts . Without taking an inventory I noticed no tires , no wheels ,

I got burned the same way last winter on an AMT '62 Corvette kit-it took 3 weeks to get my money back.

I had a pretty good haul today...

When the wife was out doing some shopping, I decided to leave for work early and I stopped by the local Ollies...

I'm sure many of you already know that Ollie's sometimes gets some decent kits at prices that will nearly make you pass out trying to get your wallet out...

Today's haul consisted of

×1 MPC 49' Merc Snap kit $5

×2 MPC Charger Daytona (Super deep dish torque thrust wheels that will have to be stripped because the chrome has serious issues) $8ea.

×1 AMT Datsun 280zx $8

×1 MPC 1972 GTO (not a great kit, but has a decent donor body) $8

×2 Lindberg 32 ford roadsters (decent wheels and great engine!) $8ea.

So, for around $50 I scored 7 kits! Some that will be built and some for the parts box.

Then, I swung by Michael's and took advantage of their weekly coupon and got a Revell 69 Camaro Z28 RS for $10.28!

But wait... theres more!!!

So after that I stopped by Popeyes had a tasty chicken sandwich, then proceeded to Hobby Lobby, where I exploited there coupon for a Revell 69 Boss 302 mustang for like $16

I finished the day off with a trip to Hobby town, where I resupplied my Alclad stash (turns out the stuff is produced locally)

So for around $100 (not including lunch) I got 9 new kits and a fresh supply of Alclad primer, base coat, and chrome.

Fantastic day!!

Without taking an inventory I noticed no tires , no wheels , no decals . May be more missing but that is enough . Giving seller a chance to make it right but failing that I will avail ebay of its help .

I believe the rims & tires are the same as the ones that came in the old MPC Dodge vans. If you don't locate any, I have the van ones.

The last issue of the Switchers 32 also has those wheels and tires.

Last night I stopped by my Buddy's house for a visit. I finally dropped off the Monogram 1/8 scale tires I had bought him. He, as always, gave me so much more! Here is what he kindly have me!

Boxes of parts: bodies, tires (kit and aftermarket), wheels (kit, resin and aluminum), engines, PE sets, resin bits and decals. What a buddy! I now have hours of exploring and sorting to do.

Let me know the next time your friend needs anything in 1/8th, I'd be glad to work out an exchange of some sort.

Come on up! I'd love the visit. I'm still sorting out some of the tires and parts kits he gave me a few weeks ago.

Is that the Revell '65 Chevy convertible metalbody at lower left? I'm hoping to slap one of those together this weekend. Model on! B)

A few days ago I bought a pacer, hemi under glass and a 1/8 scale monogram jaguar. Traded the pacer with Slusher. Anyone put the jaguar together? Please tell me about it. Thanks

The Rover has landed....   My Land Rover arrived from the UK in today's mail!

I don't have to show it off since the contents etc have already been posted on the board.

One word of caution -  If you pull it out of the box, note how the trees are arranged or it will be fun to get it all back in the box! There's a lot in there.

Yeah, I've only pulled out the body and instruction booklet on mine.  I like how they packaged the decals inside the instructions.

I put one together around 1962. It had been a Christmas gift. I wish I could help you but I don't remember the details. I wish I had another one.

Seems like a good kit. Kind of rough but not bad. Looks like it might build up nice

I think at that scale , one could do some serious detailing.
