I decided to Build a one off full custom tube chassis even though i never did it before. The project was never finished and my son got ahold of the chassis and demolished it kinda dissapointing.The next are a set of scratch built headers i made for a twin turbo ls motor. The motor was for an irocz tribute car i was building for a friend who passed but once its started coming together it tears me up to look at it still. I hope to finish it one day. All scratch built using styrene, putty and random shapes made from different things. Not 100% correct, but a LOT better than the Aoshima lump. The following 78 Ford LTD 460 Interceptor is completely scratchbuilt, as are the comm console on the seat, the cage, standing shotgun rack, TwinSonic lightbar, Jabsco overhead remote spot and Taylor Buddy Bumpers up front. My first 'labor of love' so to speak.. Built a Whelen 8000 lightbar with overhead remote spot from scratch for my 82 Diplomat LSP, seat console and map light, and bumpbars Bumpars & lightbar installed: FS Mod. Seat Console Controler & map light: Jabsco spot, and Console, installed: FS 1/24 TwinSonic build: Rotaters (made from scrap box) & Mirrors (from thin aluminum cans) Superglued to base Make lenses from sheet styreen, one panel at a time, glue OUTSIDE the corner edges, prim and carefully sand to square/ Use .05 sheet to make speaker cover, then Bare Metal Foil. The four-banger Flattie is for a current project. The engine is scratched, above the oil pan. The first two photos are the water pump, I just built. The other photos are of a junior fueler I completed last year (after a 20-year journey). I'm not Ford fan but I do like the Consul Capri, when I was a very young kid these, the Classics and the Anglias were a taste of the transatlantic, along with the Wimpy bar naturally. So, I built one out of 3 sections of angled sprues, with round tubes and butterlies. throttle shafts, barrel valve, distribution block & al. Even the AN connectors and braided lines are scratch. These are N scale (1:160) bumper cars I made for a carnival scene on a train layout. I made a master from clear acrylic, made RTV mold and case several cars using urethane resin. The electric pole is painted brass wire. I also etched by own steering wheels and soldered them to another brass rod steering column. The figure is just an N scale person (not scratch built). I have a thread about these, but Photobucket puked on me. I also made N scale golf carts. Again I made a master from acrylic, made RTV mold, and cast them using urethane resin. The golf bag is made from a piece of black wire insulation and slices of heat-shrink tubing. Golf clubs are pieces of thin stainless steel wire. The strap in the back is a thin slice of black (antistatic) vinyl bag. Steering wheel is photoetched by me, like I did for the bumper cars. Next, when I built the Monogram Ultimates 1:43 289 Cobra, I ended up scratch building many small items. Most of the items on the bottom (in the yellow box, on the piece of white styrene on the lower right, items on the popsicle stick) are all scratch built. Also the door panels, vent windows, and sun visors. I also designed the gauge faces in Corel Draw and had them printed on a transparent film. Then I just painted the back of the film white (and orange for the pointers) and I had an instant gauge cluster (glued in from the back of the dash).
