Ace-Garageguy Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 This one's been on snooze for a long time now, but as I've recently traded into the 427 Cammer engine I want to use, she's coming out of mothballs. Body shell is based on the old Monogram Darryl Starbird Predicta kit, with some updating and cleanup. Mockup showing the overall look I'll be going for, a cross between the bubble-top '60s customs and something more timely. Frame is Nascar race-car of unknown origin.
Custom Mike Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 This should be another cool build Bill, I'm hopping on for the ride!
crazyrichard Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 omg thats cool !!! i was just looking at those older cars and bubbletops today on ghoogle before i saw your thread BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH that stance is great love those wheels !!!
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 6, 2013 Author Posted January 6, 2013 Thank you all for the interest and enthusiasm. There are a couple of angles this doesn't quite work from yet, and as soon as I get those little problems cleared up, I'll start gluing and filling.
JasonFL Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 You always have some really cool creations going on and you came up with something that looks 20 times better then the box art. I'm not sure what's not working for you but I personally like what you've done so far. The only suggestion I would make is to maybe chop that bubble top down some so it flows with the rest of body. Hope you figure out what it is, I can't wait to see more.
Gluhead Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Nice start, Bill. I'm sure you'll sort out whatever wonkiness. Myself, I'm looking forward to seeing how you make that grill and bumper look like it was born there. What's the glass unit from? It's working well.
