Ron35369
I built this Revell 1963 Impala SS as a replica to the 1:1 Impala that my Grandpa had when I was in my teens. It's painted with factory correct Laurel Green Poly & black interior. Hope you enjoy. Edited January 7, 2013 by Ron35369
charlie8575
Very nice job on that. You can almost hear it sitting there idling. Pretty color on that, too. Charlie Larkin

Harry P.
Very nice, but the pins in the headlight lenses are a major bummer. Next time, remove the pins, fill the holes in the headlight buckets and use white glue or clear enamel to attach the lenses.
Ron35369
Another great tip! I'm learning things that I never would have thought of & I've only been on here a week. Love the comments & please give suggestions whenever you see places for improvement!
Guest
Nice looking Impala Ron! I really like the color on it! A simple and easy fix for those headlights is to paint the very end of the pins with some chrome paint. It makes a huge difference in their appearance. Harry P.
Another great tip! I'm learning things that I never would have thought of & I've only been on here a week. Love the comments & please give suggestions whenever you see places for improvement! What a nice change of pace... a member who actually takes criticism to heart without being all "offended!" Congratulations on your adult-ness! I wish we had more people like you here. BTW... I only commented on the headlight pins because it's obvious to me that you have exceptional skills. Your craftsmanship is absolutely top notch, your paint and foil work is about as good as it gets. All you need are a few small "tweaks" in your building style, but believe me, you have the skills! Ron35369
Believe me Harry, I'm always looking for ways to improve my building skills. I don't know why I never even thought of taking off the pins & filling the holes. I do use white glue to install all my glass so I'm covered there. Keep up the criticism, I look forward to it
Gramps2u
Sweet 63! Great tip on the head lamps too. Very clean job! Super job on the SS emblems on the rear quarters.
Sixties Sam
Very nice build, and a great way to honor your grandpa. Nice color and foil work! Sam
Danno
Nice work. The headlamps are the only real turn-off. Absent that, it's a very creditable model. I love the color ... but that's in part due to the fact that my 1:1 is that color! PS: I agree with Harry ... nice, refreshing attitude toward constructive criticism and suggestions! Welcome.
