allecb
so i got the audi r8 for christmas, apparently my girlfriend couldnt find me the 370z. but its okay, cause this is my second favorite car, and second build i wanted to do. but before i start building, i am curious on how to do the panel part thats behind the doors. how do i go about getting the part after the door to be black, and the rest of the car another color? (i think im going to go with white :] )

martinfan5
Did you open it up yet ? I seem to remember those being seperate panels No, they are not separate pieces, molded to the body The easiest way would be to paint them first, then mask them off and paint the body
Kaleb
Other than masking them, I had some fitting issues, such as body to chassis, especially the headlights. That could also be the builder too.
drunknmunky
The back panels came in carbon fiber or stainless steel. So if you're looking to make it look authentic you could choose either way. Not sure if the kit has carbon fiber decals or not but it would be easier to shoot them silver then to try and replicate the CF. Either way these cars look really good. But as stated in the above posts the best way is to paint the panels and then mask them and shoot the body. Good luck and keep us updated on the progress!
