skysoldier46
Can someone ID what year and model this Pete is? Thinking about building one.
TUFF TIN
Appears to be an early '50's model. If you would like to build one you should start with a T500 California Hauler kit.Mike
skysoldier46
that's what I thought also and it looks to maybe be a logging truck. I don't understand what that bar beneath the frame is for either, then again I'm not a trucker.

Mike By the way, I do have 7 of the small window Pete's. One pristine and 6 that need to be de-painted, de-unglued (tube glue... yuk). Old Albion
Jim, I remember when this truck came up for sale on Ebay a while ago now. I saved all the photo's for a future build. It's a 1955 Peterbilt 381. According to the build sheet it has Vickers power steering,so I assume that the bar under the frame is the hydraulic ram to actuate the steering. Hope this helps Edited January 12, 2013 by Old Albion
skysoldier46
Thanks for the update. this is my next build also. Was it the real truck on eBay for sale and if so do you have a link so I can see more pics?
Old Albion
Jim, I have all the photo's. Send me a PM with your E-mail address and I will send them to you. Interestingly this truck has a triple frame!
