chris_thobe
Thanks everyone. I know this type of paint job isn't everyone's taste, but you can take the idea into building 60's and 70's customs, and even take the taping method into doing flames and scallops. Just a thought. But it is fun to do none the less!

scalemodelworld
As usual, you guys make me want to throw myself through a window. I thought I was being clever wiring up an engine and building some door hinges. When I see the talent on this forum, I don't know whether to throw my hands in the air and give it all away, or knuckle down and try to replicate what I see. This paintwork is some awe-inspiring stuff. I have to give it a go, but I'll never embarrass myself by posting my results, lol.

vintagedragfan
Thanks everyone. But it is fun to do none the less! the (type) of paint job doesn't take away from the talent it takes to do it ! I have painted 1-1 cars my whole life, a few flame jobs and such, there is nothing easy about it, but it does take a good eye and patients speaking from years of experience, I have yet to do a custom paint job on a model, I will probably try to do some thing cool on my current project, beautiful work Chris, keep at it bro!! Austin T
What brand of tape are you using? I have cut tamiya and regular blue scotch tape thin like you instructed, but it wrinkles and I'm almost sure paint will bleed through. Your paint work is just gorgeous, hopefully I can get mine half as good as yours.
