well i wanted something unique and a while back i found this really old pic of a racer drilled full of speedholes ..

i wanted to use that theme but in a more fancy way

so it will become like a barely street legal drag / racer .

paint is going to be bare metal , sound wierd paint > bare metal but hey we use styrene lol

using real alunimium zink spray , its paint with metal parts in it

back in the day pic i found

526833_258742534258664_1568649962_n.jpg

the wheels , rims are out of a amt corvette gasser kit with some tyres from the partsbox and the rear tyres of this kit

speedhole time , trying to keep it normal and not do to much holes

folowed the rear side line

Looks pretty cool....and like lots of work drilling all those holes!

thnx and well not really its something that takes little time ..

what does make it tricky is to position the drill right ..

i tried messuring but got bored very quickly , the curves are not really ...

so i drew a small pen line straight and eye balled the distance between the holes ..

not accurate as you would have when messuring , but .... its kind of gives it soul , because i do want this to be not perfect and not exactly spot on

also going bare metal on the body ..

its not that i'm saying all the holes are off but they are also not perfect :)

btw i will not do a whole lot more then this i dont want it to look like the exampe ....thats to much

bondo-ed the airvent on the front of the cab and the holes for the window pillars

also placed the firewall , placed it way more upwards and i will change the center later on

534791_259218334211084_686315879_n.jpg

also bondo-ed the corners of the dash , there where gaps due to not following build instructions lol

528734_259218387544412_1766160655_n.jpg

some flattening

560223_259218457544405_69561605_n.jpg

and did some speedholes on the front

very rough update , front is full of bondo , did some interiour work , just the forst set up of smooth sheets

drilled the rear edge , that is a bit sunken and i want to ad a edge on the doors so the side holes also become sunken / with depth

the rear holes i drilled with my powerdrill in the car on the pics i see they are all off ....

but irl its not that obvious and luckely the seats will hide most holes there

well finshed all the speedholes .

first of all not all are perfect position wise , if i could do it over i would first mark all holes with a marker en pre punch them with a steel needle ...
would take 3-4 times as much time but then it would be perfect
now i dont think its really a big issue , most are pretty good only screwed 2 up in the chassis by being to enthousiastic and wanting to do it too quick
but when you guys see the fonish of bare metal and the shading i think it will be fine

a previeuw of the idea of the bare metal , here is a deuce i did before and this was the second stage of the aluminium paint with some rubbing and sanding >

539462_201411923325059_1057912003_n.jpg

that one got some flyrust over the whole body on this one i want just the bare metal effect , hope i can do it the second time .
also will try to add more detail in the paint with tiny darker specs ..

started today with the bucket seats and drilled some holes in the sides

44312_259711134161804_1695622510_n.jpg

in the car

149420_259711184161799_614824879_n.jpg

then did the chassis and the grille

:) !! tbh i cant find anything else speedhole related other then this one and the one in my first post

grille and chassis

604138_259711204161797_551910486_n.jpg

very loose rough mock up just to see ... all the parts are not really in place

i have this flat head v8 .. what do you guys think use this with some brass stacks on top or do a more modern , more powerfull v8 ?

538347_259711264161791_322352352_n.jpg

some pre-shading of the panellines because after the aluminium paint its hard to rub off excess paint it works on the paint

well drilled the holes on the rear from behind with a bigger drill like mentioned oabove and now it looks way thinner

the started work on "the interiour"

used a styrene airplain missile as base for the tunnel

31900_260222167444034_1214065742_n.jpg

and then shot some holes in them with my ......uuuhhmm drill :)

485203_260222140777370_1594730107_n.jpg

on the front at the end of the tunnel i will close it up

73474_260222154110702_1218684391_n.jpg

need to sand the inside of every hole with a fine round file , added new smaller seats

16504_260222197444031_517698704_n.jpg

removed the sides that where like arm rests :) cant be too comftable , it needs to go fast not .....

59749_260222230777361_1166531440_n.jpg

had a lot of lenght inside so i kept the seats a tad forward instead of right against the rear

Wow, a lot of work there! What did you use to keep the holes/starter holes lined up so perfectly?
