Dodge L700 "Junkyard Dog"

Recommended Posts

I built this Lindberg kit last year and couldn't think of where to go with it because it just didn't want to go together. I decided to make an old yard truck. I scratch built the bed, boom and added items from my parts box. I painted it with a salting technique I learned at the Lab-Rat-Ory, and Floquill paint that was on clearance. I topped it off with oil paints for details and Tamiya weathering system.

Thanks for all the good reviews. The kit isnt terrible cobraman but, this one looked like it was made out of the same plastic that they use to make milk juggs. It was almost transparent. Every part had massive ammounts of flash and was warped terribly. As you can see the doors are warped so bad they will not shut properly. I worked on them for hours and this is the best I could get them. I have seen many of the same kits on this forum that are really nice so maybe I just got a bad one. As long as you are handy with super glue and have productive ways to release your frustrations this kit can make a decent model. I will probably build a few more in the future.
