Chris guthro
all three of them that i had, none of the cabs were even semi usable! its almost as bad as the issues with the amt t600 frames! but yours looks like its off to a great start! the amt lowboy seems to work good with any amt tractor kit

Chris guthro
Are you building it as a daycab or putting the sleeper on it?

Sam I Am
Ok guys, after going through that huge big rig score, It really got me going. I have not touched a model in about a year, but I ordered some new glue, and will have the table cleaned off and set up by the end of the weekend. Sam I Am
I am working on the chassis and pondering something. (must be the fumes) So when you guys glue down your fifth wheel, do you actually glue it down solid when you want to put a trailer on it, or do you let it float so you can display it with or without a trailer? You guys might want to sit down somewhere with plenty of reading material while you contemplate the depth of it. Oh, and here is the finished chassis. Petetrucker07
Looks good man. I leave my 5th wheels floating, but thats just me, others may do different
Jim B
Looking good, but I think your tanks are reversed. As to the 5th wheel, I leave mine floating as well. I don't glue the 5th wheel or the carrier down.
kilrathy10
That really looks good, Man....I'm with the other guys....I just let the fifth wheel float, most of the time.....I do have a couple where I added some stick pins at the pivot points to make it work, but I only did that for a couple of models.....Letting it float was much easier, so that method won out..... As far as the tanks go, I think James is right, but if you make it a daycab, it ain't gonna matter, really.... If you put some tread plate there, it'll look like you did it on purpose..... Sam I Am
Thanks for the input. i will let her float. lol As far as the fuel tanks go. I plead the fifth.....because i followed the instructions.
kilrathy10
Yep.....That's what it says to do.....Can't argue with AMT..... I like the way they are, though.... Edited October 7, 2014 by kilrathy10
Superpeterbilt
This looks great. Im with the others on the 5th wheel. I leave them loose. The only ones Ive glued were for a frameless dump trailer.
Sam I Am
Thanks Terry !! JT, they could be wrong, but if they are its 'cause I followed the directions. Edited October 7, 2014 by Sam I Am
Sam I Am
Ok, a couple more updates. Other than the headlight lens and painting the latches, the hood assembly is finished. Interior is finished up. Just some basic detail painting.
