hello everybody, well, this model is the very first piece i have built in almost 10 years. i bought this and a couple of others from my old and dear friend, dave burkit the model king about a year ago. finished it in august 2012, and then on to the next. i must admit, there isn't much to say here, as for other than basic ignition wiring, and some old blue micro scale stripe decals that i've had around for ever, its a box stock build. paint is tamiya yellow,..no clearcote...some polish after it dried,...but thats it. if you have any comments, they are certainly welcome. regards, a.c. the ace.

Very nice Chevy II. Excellent finishing, and cleanly built. I like it. Since I have built the kit, too I have to take my hat (Which I actually don't have) off and congratulate you...The kit is not very good IMO. Are the Injector Stacks from the kit or Aftermarket?

hi john and niko, thanks to both of you for your kind remarks. to answer niko's question, yes, those stacks are the 8 supplied in the kit. another member asked the same question as i have 4 builts on the UNDER GLASS section as well, and he said his were not so great in his mib kit. i probably have a good half hour or so in each one, to repair the bell tops, using zap , and then BMF to repair the edges. the clear red tamiya spray give that 60's gasser look, as well. regards, happy to answer qu. on any of my posted builds. a.c.

  • 1 year later...

Just mainly stuff like: tons of flash, poor fitment, lack of detail, the chassis plate not meeting the sides of the body, no door panel detail whatsoever, etc. I've been looking for an easy, quick build but I was thinking the lack of detailing would drive me crazy. But after looking at yours, I'm rethinking this. It looks GREAT!!

hi again Greg, my issue is the model king one from 2005....but I also have the BC ratpacker molded in grey from the late 90s. they had little flash on the parts, and for fit and such, a bit of filing and fitting resolves that in most areas. the interiors are stripped race-only style, but a modeller like you,,,i looked at your builts, they are super nice,,,, will have little trouble tuning one of these kits to your liking. build one, and post it on this forum for all to enjoy...lol...the ace........ :P
