Tony T Posted April 8, 2013 Share Posted April 8, 2013 I love the retro graphics on this car so had to at least start to build it...I love the 60s era of NASCAR and this one also takes care of my desire to build a Ford COT. So, here's what I got...Power Slide decals, Mike's Fusion resin body and the AMT 2010 Chevy COT snapper. The resin parts have had a Wesley's bath and a soap and water soaking. Once dry I'll shoot some primer. I'll need to adjust the wheelbase on the chassis, but I'm only planning on a shelf model, so the snapper chassis fits the bill and looks like it should fit the body. THarrison351 Posted April 9, 2013 Share Posted April 9, 2013 Tony, I used these decals on an Action diecast. Probably a Carl Edwards car, because I won a bunch from GoMotorBids for cheap. Don't know what color white was used, because I have a lot of old touch up colors on the shelf. The decals are fantastic. I only have one picture from when I redid my display cases. Maybe even just testers or tamiya white...got a ways to go before I spray colour! Gotta fit a chassis under there after some clean up of the body and a coat of primer. Tony T Posted April 16, 2013 Author Share Posted April 16, 2013 So as I was working on trying to fit the chassis from the AMT snap COT, I went looking for a solution since I didn't like the difference in wheelbase. Found a better fit here Trimmed the dash (I know I need to add the dash top electronics) and the rad shroud Adjusted the rear axle forward a little bit on the suspension Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Tony T Posted April 16, 2013 Author Share Posted April 16, 2013 Fit a rear filler panel And used the template with the kit to make a new rear firewall Nice exhaust dumps in the kit And finally made the splitter (again from the provided template) Still a ways to go, but it will be a nice shelf model, so I'm not going for true accuracy on the chassis and interior. I did manage to put some electronics on the right side of the dash in a recessed shelf, which came out okay.
