MikeyB08
So this may have been posted before but if not, here it is. A 1:8 scale $4,700,000 Model Lamborghini Aventador. He's a cut from the article. Wish their was a little more on this gem. "This 1:8 version of the Lamborghini Aventador miniature is made from carbon and has gold linings and diamonds encrusted almost everywhere in its handcrafted interior and exterior, making it the world's most expensive car model. Gülpen used the original blueprints of the Italian model to create this masterpiece. After 500 hours of work and with the help of a computer modeling data, the artist developed a perfect miniature model that boasts 1/100 mm tread of solid gold, diamonds on the seats and precious gemstones." Who can top it? http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamborghini-aventador-miniature Found some more pics. http://thethrottle.thechive.com/2011/09/18/model-lambo-costs-at-least-4-7-million-dollars-14-photos/ Stright from AutoBlog.com. http://www.autoblog.com/2011/09/17/lamborghini-aventador-1-8-scale-model-costs-12-times-the-real-th/ Edited April 14, 2013 by MikeyB08
JamesW
My only question............... WHAT'S THE POINT??????? You could buy the actual car for a fraction of the cost.
MikeyB08
Actually... They did the math and figured you could buy a dozen of the real cars. Unbelievably stupid.

Deano
Since the auction for this replica was in December 2011, does anyone know if it actually sold for this amount?
Ace-Garageguy
So who's the intended market? Whatever. Edited April 14, 2013 by Ace-Garageguy
kalbert
Somebody has too much money (and free time). I'm more impressed by a working Joe who manages to eek a couple box stock kits out between work, kids, bills, and work.
MikeyB08
Can't find how much it really went for. All I can find is repeated articles back in 2011. Maybe it never sold. His goal was to be entered into the World Guinness Records for Most Expensive Model, and 2 other titles that escape me. Regardless... I could see $4.7 Million being used for SO MUCH more than a 1:8 scale model car of something that you probably already have parked in your garage.
