The "tool" that made the most impact in my modeling, is the sanding sticks that you can find in the nail care area of your local beauty supply store. They come in a variety of grits and sizes and you can cut them into smaller pieces of you need with a decent pair of scissors. It changed parts clean up from something I dreaded to something I enjoy.

Snading stix/papers-Lots of different grits.&shapes.And good paint brushes.

Glue-Elmers,super,& epoxy,And of corse your faverate model glue.

A good spru cutter. And a good xacto knife w/#11 blades.-LOTS of blades.

Later you can add a pin vice w/drill bits, saw, dremel tool-the list goes on.

Master the basics first.
