Lockheed L 1049 Constellation 1/72 Heller, with lights

Recommended Posts

A so nice plane! I decided to add lights and interior, it's a special version: the " Parisian Special" fly" joined N.Y. - Paris by Air France airlines.

The kit is the 1/72 scale from Heller.

Beautiful work, love the lighting. Would that be the same as the Super G Constellation?

only the team cabin. I project a diorama in biriefing situation before a night fly with team door open. Doesn't decided the livery yet, perhaps Eastern Airways... very nice colors!

just to precise it's not the usual interior setting.

Back in the summer of 1992, I had the chance to walk through the "Save A Connie" 1049, at the Mt Comfort IN Air Show. Amazing how big the interior is on that airplane--I can see why the Lockheed Constellations were called "The first wide-body airliners". Much roomier than even the DC7C.

Beautiful model too!

Francois,

If you're still paying attention, would you sharing some info about how the Heller kit is to build?

Is it accurate and do parts fit well or need much sanding and filling?

Did you rescribe panel lines after removing raised lines and details?

I ask because Fisher now offers resin correction sets for this kit and I'm very interested. But there are very few available on ebay and are expensive and so are the Fisher sets.

Any info you share is appreciated.
