Belugawrx
Welcome back brother! I really like the weathering on that engine.. Is the dash pointed up just a wee bit too much ?... Looks great so far Cheers
brodie_83
Thanks everyone! I did a few things to the engine tonight but I dont know where I put all of my tiny drill bits (need to drill out the distributor) and I broke off the front suspension on the chassis so that's glued and in the dehydrator for now, so I'm going to have to postpone any more work until I can run to Hobbytown and get more drill bits. slusher
Very nice shade of green on the body..Nice weathering...
brodie_83
Thanks. I wont be buffing it or putting on clear coat because it has a very low-quality paint job from the previous owner and it's about on par with how it came out of the Tamiya can. iheartkits
Oh my that is much more detail than I would have the guts to try. Looks great and the engine rust looks real. Keep it up Brodie! James

brodie_83
Thanks guys, I did get a bit done this weekend but I really dont want to go any further until I get my wired distributor in the mail. After that is done, then I can get a few more things put on the engine, and plumb/wire the engine and such. Its really a fun project! brodie_83
A few small updates...waiting on my distributor to show up to start again on the engine.
brodie_83
More pictures... Also made an accurate battery tray since the kit wants to mount the battery the wrong way.
brodie_83
I polished up the cab and box a little...everything but the roof, since it's pretty orange peel-y and dull on the real truck. I also made my own axles with styrene and glued them in place to replace the metal axles that were included in the kit, as well as modified the suspension to get a more proportionate stance as the actual 1:1 truck. brodie_83
Also installed the pre-wired distributor (even in the correct firing order) and wired the coil. I'll probably do a few more little details with wires before I reinstall the air cleaner.

66belair
Nice job I like the idea of having s replica in miniature of your own 1:1 vehicle. The detail is great.
426-Hemi
NICE work! I've been doing something similar as well, only mine neither of them, have slant 6's in them! my "Father & Son" build is the same truck as a base for both the real ones My Dad & I had, some years ago!
