Recommended Posts

Inspiration from the '40 Ford pick up featured on cover of the August Street Rodder magazine

Didn't want to trash the only '40 Ford pick up kit i had.

Had plenty of old '50 Ford Pick up bodies laying around

chopped the top 4 scale inches

motor, rear end, air cleaners, wheels and front tires are from parts box

narrowed and shortened the bed

rear tires from amt Custom & Competition Racemaster Dragster Slicks

front and rear Buick finned brakes

decal from Steve A.

scratch built:

chassis, fuel cell, front suspension, rear suspension, tractor nose, exhaust system and driveshaft

Paint is Model Master's Afrika Mustard (2 parts) - Olive Drab (1part) decanted/air-brushed and covered with Model Master's Ultra Gloss Clearcoat

After decantering, I air brushed 2 parts Model Master's Afrika Mustard to 1 part Model Master's Olive Drab, then covered with Model Master's Ultra Gloss Clearcoat
