goosedude
I want to chop a Modelhaus 56 Lincoln Premeire. The front pillars are very thin and I'm not sure how to glue it back on. What would you guys recommend for glue? CA glue? I'm trying to build a replica of this car...
southpier
if you could cut the pillars at the cowl or roofline (rather than at the middle) and add a strip of brass to the backside when putting back together, I think you would be safe. the brass could extend into the fender or headliner so the joint would be reinforced. CA would be my choice, too.
Harry P.
Yes, CA works just fine on resin.
SSNJim
I understand a razor saw is the preferred method of cutting resin, not an Xacto knife. I used one to chop a resin model and CA to put it back together. If the pillar is that thin/fragile, backing it with a brass strip is probably a good idea. dimaxion
All the above . I would reccomend metal of some sort behind the new joint you've created . I am finging this out on a Broken A Pillar . This is on a Resin Body . It does glue - cure fine . I put it back in the box , come back ion a few months and it is broken again . Thanx ..
