PappyD340
Dang, my house didn't cost too awful much more than that 25 yrs ago, I can think of a lot of other things I could buy for $55,000 other than a model, how about a real 1:1 something!! disabled modeler
I have to agree here....while looking trying to find parts for my dads old stuff so I can restore them I seen many small parts or just one part to a current kit that the asking price is the cost of the whole kit?????....Whats up with that and what are they thinking????? sjordan2
That one has shown up on eBay from time to time over the past couple of years and obviously never sold. When you compare its somewhat poor workmanship to the masterpieces of Gerald Wingrove and Fine Art Models, which can go as high as $30,000, you can see that the seller is living in dreamland. jaymcminn
That Bugatti pops up in my Ebay feed every time it's relisted. It does look a bit... lopsided, or something. There are other models by the same builder in the same eye-watering price range.

I guess I'll just keep them and try again in a couple of months...oh, we'll!" Do you think the conversation could go like that at his house? 62rebel
what? there's a line between building a scale model and creating one from scratch and even more so, there's a point past which it no longer fits "model" criteria and becomes "work of art".... now; i'm not defending this one item at all. I'm just saying that, in such a large scale (Wingrove works in 1/15th, I think), and making it even resemble at ALL the car intended, is a major amount of work. who can set the price on a one-off scratchbuilt creation except the seller and the buyer? there's a lot of motion picture models out there that are little more than "folk art" from the thirties and forties that don't look as convincing. Wingrove and his wife are professional engineers, as well.... maybe there's a little something TO that in comparison.

Make sure you get a shopping cart to push around. You'll need to fill it several times. Maybe many times.
