kingiguana
Ok, this may belong in trucks section,.....but since it will be used as a slot car for drag racing, I thought Id just put it here. Ok, again Jeff wanted a rusty look, so using a resin body he provided ( a very heavy body ) not sure if it will be fast, but it will look cool. Duplicolor over red oxide with salt and rubber cement to provide rust and worn paint. Also used chalks to provide a very rusty look. A well used old Mac Tools truck. More paint than I wanted came off, but it is what it is. Luckily my 51 Ford WIP chassis worked for mockup pics.

kingiguana
Thanks everybody !!! I'm not sure which is harder, a shiny paint job, or the worn weathered look.
Tom Geiger
That's pretty cool! I have an old All American Metro van like that one. I need to do something with it someday.

Guest
Cool! I would say weathering is harder, especially to pull off this nice!
kingiguana
Thanks for the compliments, and as for doing well, racing it ??? Ha ha hes run it a few times, its not fast and it doesnt run too great, it's very heavy !!! A very thick resin.....but like Jeff says his stuff looks cool. He's into the barn find and old school look. Wide whites, patina, rust. He has some shiney too, but most of his cars are old rods and gassers, while a lot of guys go pro-mod styles.
