Dinky
Thanks guys. Bobby my grill did not fit very good, I found out when body was already painted. Better to do this before painting. And the quality of some chrome parts is terrible that one of the reasons why my scoop is black For the rest this it a great kit to build! kmjmusic
Thanks for the head up Arno. I havent started painting mine yet so I'll make sure to check the fit. One more question though..where did you get your ignition wires?
Dinky
I bought those in Czech republic but i know Phil hobbyshop is selling them also in the US. Its the Detail master DM-3201. One tip, dont use it because the diameter is too big for the Willys There is not enough space for it unless you cut the body of the car or lower the engine at the front. The engine is little bit tilted backward, I lowered it so that i could use this distributor. I ended up with exhaust that did not fit anymore, same for radiator hoses, the electric fan on the radiator and more extra work Search for Parts by Parks, prewired distributor kit. This one is as big as the original plastic one in the box.
kmjmusic
Wow.. ok thanks for the heads up. Thats alot of work but I must admit that they ended up looking killer on your build! I'll check out parks and see what they have. I will confess I did paint my air scoop like yours because I thought it was a nice touch! Thanks again! Dinky
Welcome Bobby, This one took a lot of time because its my first lowered model and I removed the paint multiple times because I changed my mind about the color multiple times but I'm very happy with the end result I'm looking forward to the pictures of your Willys. Dinky
Bobby, this is the difference between the two distributors. Left: Detail Master Right: Parts by Parks The right one is about the size of the original that's in the Willys box.
IceMan Collections
My first "on the bench" project on the forum Started with the Revell 41 Willys street rod. Basecoat on the body: That black is smooth. What brand paint did you use?
Dinky
That black is smooth. What brand paint did you use? Thanks, the black is Vallejo Air "basic" black (nothing special) and the Clear is Zero Paints 2k
