Ajay
Hi all, It's the elderly motorised Tamiya kit built mainly out of the box except for lowered suspension & Aoshima 8 spokes. Paint is Saburu World Rally Blue plus pre-thinned clear from Zero Paints. Thanks for looking. Andy

hobbybobby
Great build, Ajay, thank you very much, this brings back memories!A friend had just one in this color and with polished, deep bedded rims, flat and hard as a board, very noisy inside, but very funny to drive! 1972coronet
Super nice R5 Turbo , Andy ! There were a small handful of those beasts which made it stateside ; there were two in my hometown ! Were all of the Tamiya R5's the motorised version , or did they also release a detailled version ?

The Creative Explorer
ooohh still remember seeing these on the road , almost bought a 5 turbo myself , the normal one not the wide one like this .. awsome build !! really stunning !! love it if you would have this irl like this it would be worth a fortune haha the simple 5 turbos are also pretty valuable these days I have one not the Turbo, but a GTTurbo. Same engine, different set-up, but almost as fun to drive as the Turbo. Unfortunately mine is already sitting for 6 years now. One day.... @Ajay, Like the wheels, they look a bit like Gotti's. drodg
Very nice. I drove a friend's back in the mid 80's and it was dark blue. What a fast and great handling car. It may not feel fast today but it did in 1985. Great job on the build.
surfjunke
Beautiful, Andy! The best build I have seen of this kit! Love the finish, wheels & that stance.
