cobraman
Just finished this one up today. Pretty nice kit. Clean parts and very few issues. Engine and bracing was a little difficult and when installing the front wheels the pin on the wheels did not fit into the rubber sleeve in the disc brake and I broke one off so had to glue it on. Only 3 of these cars were built in 1965. Mr. Ginther driving the number 11 car became the first Japanese car to win since the dawn of Gran Prix racing in 1906. Comments both good and bad are welcome. Harry P.
Looks pretty good to me. What scale is that? Also... the amount I know about these types of cars is approximately ZERO. So am I seeing things correctly? The engine was mounted crosswise? Was that common or was this some sort of one-off experiment, like the Indy turbine car? cobraman
Thank you Harry. The model is Tamiya and is 1/20 scale. It is a V12 and yes it is in sidways and has a snakenest of exhaust 6 coming over the top and 6 under. I like this car so much I may buy and build their 1/12 kit of the same car. rv1963
Well done Ray, it looks like a very nice kit. As far as know this was the only early F1 car that had a side mounted engine.

IMSANUT
Very nice build of a cool car. I have a 1/24 kit of this waiting in the wings. When you consider motor cycles is where Honda got it's start, the transverse mounting of the motor should be no surprise.

Rossa156
I have built the 1/24 Hasegawa version and love it! I also used a Hasegawa kit to scratch-bash a 1/24 RA271, the first Honda GP car, from an old LS kit a friend gave me. I'm a big fan of the 1.5 Liter years in F1. I've made nearly every F1 in the 1960s. Now if I could get a 3-Liter RA 273...wow! Patrick
