Rhino1100
Greetings. I have a close friend that has a '68 Charger RT that I am building a kit to match his car. I am doing this as a Christmas gift without him knowing. I didn't want to get to nosy in checking the VIN for the color code. Can anyone tell me which color blue (Testors, ect)? Thanks in advance. seanyb505
Looks like it might be B5 Bright Blue Metallic. Not sure about the testors equivalent though, but I know scalefinishes has it listed.
Rhino1100
Thanks Sean. I was kinda thinking the same. I used to run your neck of the woods. I am originally from NC. Grew up outside of Raleigh and lived in Charlotte for many years. The company I worked for in Charlotte sold industrial equipment. I used to ride to the Century Plastics Plant of Neely Ferry Rd once a month. Small world.
gtx6970
If it's a factory color it's probably QQ1 ( EB5 is a 1969 - 1970 color only . The 2 colors are very close but are different shades of blue if side by side Plus it looks to light to be EE1 which was a darker blue avail on a 1968 . I'll have to find the can but I think this one came out pretty close to what your after It's a duplicolor rattle can edit - found the can - Duplicolor BGM0533 Bahama Blue Metallic Edited October 28, 2013 by gtx6970
Rhino1100
Thanks Bill. That looks pretty darn close. I will pick up a can and do a test spoon or two and see if I can compare to his car. I really appreciate you doing the research for me. Greg
