Is the a real price?

Well it is free shipping and you'll get back $50 in eBay Bucks so..... it's still insanity!

Besides the price being "outta da ballpark," that doesn't look too NEW to me???

Judging from the prices of the other models in his store I think it must be a typo.

If not I have hit pay dirt, I have a few of those in the stash! :P

I got that kit free with a loyalty card from my local hobby guy and used it for parts in a kit bash. Nice suspension. still have the motor.

l would not give 2.99 in that condition if l wanted to build it...

Must be a typo, but the sad thing is, there is probably someone out there nieve enough to pay that price!!:wacko:

He fixed the typo. Now $24.99.

Which is still an order of magnitude too high for a kit in that shape. Frankly, I think he'd be pressed to get that price for a mint kit.

Price aside, I'm always dubious of someone selling a sealed kit with that kind of box crush, and claim that it ONLY effects the box. It's sealed...how do you KNOW it's not mashed up inside too?

That's the general condition of kits I see for sale at flea markets! Either crushed or sun faded with tattered shrink wrap and a sunken in box cover. It will usually be a fairly common kit from the last 15 years, and the seller will tell you it's a genuine rare antique from 1999 and quote an outrageous price. Same kit you'd find at a model swap meet for $5 or $10.

Older kits with decent shrink wrap are generally older kits with new shrink wrap. Like the "still sealed in shrink wrap" kits I've received with loose, unbagged or missing parts.

You can't take shrinkwrapped to mean "new" or "never opened." You can always re-wrap a box that has already been opened.

I'm talking about kits that were listed as "still" sealed or "original seal," etc. And there's no way to know if the seller knew the difference between old or new.
