Jim B
This should be really nice. I've been wanting to do one of these for a while. Are those the kit fuel tanks?
k100
Yes they are the kits tanks.

Brinx
Looks good Mark. I did one a while back, but my rivets (aft of the doors) didn't hold up as well as yours. Looking forward to watching your progress.
olsbooks
Very nice. There used to be a couple like these owned by Thurston eeons ago that were hacked into mobile home toters locally here in the southeast. Only recently did they become razor blades. Always seemed like they would fall on their faces if the front brakes locked while running bobtail. http://hankstruckpictures.com/df_thurston.htm Really neat. k100
I miss seeing these old cab overs. I do have question for you guys what paint color is a close match for the Detroit Diesel color? Thanks again for the comments. scummy
Very nice , i remember a how to article in the old building model trucks book in the 70's .
Jim B
I use Testors Model Masters Grun RLM 62. It's a pretty close match (to me) to the Detroit Diesel Alpine Green that was used in the 1970s. The Detroit Diesel Alpine Green that Dupli-Color sells is just too dark, in my opinion. Judge for yourself. k100
Thank you James for the information . I never seen the how to article I just started cutting ......lol
purepmd
Mark, great start. With the air foil on the roof, to me anyway, it screams UPS. I may have to make one of the brown clowns wiggle wagons. No offense to any UPS drivers meant. Just to many years of hearing that on the CB. No offense to any UPS drivers meant. Just to many years of hearing that on the CB. I had forgotten about that saying - thanks for the laugh of the day. I remember getting stuck behind those on I-80 through Wyoming. Jim - Nice work , and I like the RLM 62 better also.

k100
I had a little accident with the frame just got it painted then I dropped it , luckily the only think that broke off was the air cleaner.
olsbooks
I really like this little thing. Must be the season for "dinky's" as there is another thread of a Mack DM getting similar treatment. Nice job!
