that dang TROUBLE MAKER....orange n' suped, a '40 gas coupe

Recommended Posts

greetings everyone, ...some time since I have built a piece and posted one here. finished this today from the new amt issue 40 ford coupe kit. about 3 -4 weeks working slowly, and presto...finally its at least presentable. paint is Tamiya orange spray can, followed by Tamiya spray pearl clear. decals are a mix of this and that,...pretty much a box build,..but removed the stock exhaust and re plated the floor. scratch built traction masters, woody cal custom steering wheel, drivers helmet...I think that's about it. anyhow, maybe I will start another kit this week too. not a great build, but all this old bird can muster up these days. thanks for looking. the ace.........

"All this old bird can muster up these days" I hope when the day comes I have to use that phrase my builds look half this good, this thing is beautiful. I love it everything about it looks great you did this kit real justice. Good job on the removal of the exhaust to.im doing that on the amt 56 ford and it has turned into a job on that one. Please build more you do some great work.

I appreciate the kind replys, guys, I really do. and yes, kevin,...removing the exhaust sometimes can be tricky. your job for a 56 ford is harder, as you have duals to do, and less room to work in. next build I will pick a car that everything is separate, or not present at all. my old worn out dremel bits are not up to working another right now,,,lol....thanks.

A real nice clean crisp build.. I dig the colour and the decals look spot-on, too.

You still have the skills, Ace.

Keep 'em comin!

thanks, russell for your comments. the wheels are easy to detail in this kit, too. I love keystones, having them on 2 mopars back in the mid seventies. by blacking out the mounting hub area and center caps, you get the KEYSTONE CLASSIC look. I always liked them on most drag and muscle cars. regards, a.c.
