55 Bel Air

Recommended Posts

I had a lot of problems with this build, including no clear plastic parts! However, I was able to save it and make it into a fantastic looking build.

I had to buy the clear plastic from a 57 and trim it to fit the car. I also had to fabricate my own turn lights. I still think it looks great though.

Yep , it looks great !

Nice job making do when you're missing parts . You might try a little black wash on the grille , I think you'll like how it looks ! :)

No I didn't have to lower it. That was the way it came. It may have been slanted on the couch, or maybe the wheel covers give it the lowered illusion?

I'll have to see if they have dark wash at the shop. Never seen or heard of it till now. Always thought people painstakingly used toothpicks/ect. to get in the crevasses of the grill/ect.

Nice save on the glass, good looking model. I use acrylic black thinned with water and a fountain pen to do grilles, any excess can be easily wiped off and it really improves the look.

Nice build. You may want to move the left wiper back up on the windshield.
