55 AMT Nomad

Looking to build the 1/16th AMT 55 Nomad for my wife (she loves wagons). Plan on using Scalefinishes glacier blue over skyline blue. Thinking about using a TDR small block chevy engine and headers. Has anyone built this model or used the TDR products, and if so any opinions or recommendations? Also, are there any other 1/16th scale small block chevy engines that are better than the one in the AMT kit that could be used instead of using the TDR engine?

The Revell 1/16 '34 Ford Coupe or Phaeton's block is the best in kit form IMHO. The TH-350 (I think) trans is nicely detailed with a separate pan, though the way the engine's oil pan and the lower 1/3 of the bellhousing area of the trans housing is a bit odd in how it's molded. It's not perfect, but it's the best starting point IMO, and far better than the AMT, Revell ('87 IROC-Z), or the Lindberg Bullhorn T's SBC...though the latter has some very nice Stromberg carbs and a matching intake manifold.
