Porsche Fuchs Wheels

Recommended Posts

Thought you guys might find a photo collection of the different styles of Fuchs wheels and tires that are included in various Fujimi kits useful. This is not a complete list but it's a good start. I apologize but the first set I don't know the kit source. They appear to be Fujimi as are all the other sets.

Nice job JC!

I am pretty sure the first unknown set are from Tamiya, if around a scale 14 to 15 inches, they are from the 911 speedster. A larger diameter of the same style is in the flat nose.

Aircooled power!

I think your right Bill about the unknown set. They have poly cap mounting. I'll confirm the scale diameter but they are in the 14"-15" in range. I'll post some of the aftermarket sets I have in my collection this evening.

JC, here they are...to me, the best Fuchs wheels for model cars I've ever seen. They even come with turned aluminum wheels...

Wow Simon that's a killer build! Why haven't I seen that in "Under Glass"? Is this the Esci kit or the new Tamiya? Where are the decals from? Details Simon, I need details.

JC, you haven't, because, it hasn't been in the Under Glass section. This is not a Tamiya or Esci kit..the answer for that, like what kind of decals are the same...I don't know if you read carefully the original post I did...This is an Arena Models kit...Just google it, they make a lot of European stuff models, specially Porsches...

Here are some more "crab leg" options using Tamiya Fuchs.

This first set of pics shows the larger (18 or 19") Tamiya Fuchs.

1st I removed some of the excess on the back of the rim to mount a skinnier tire. Then I removed all of the rim except for the center spoke piece on 2 of them.

On one I mounted an aluminum rim on top of the center piece. On the other, I trimmed the center piece down to fit on TOP of the aluminum rim, creating a "crab leg" look.

This next set of pics show the smaller Tamiya Fuchs and Revell Fuchs. I made "crab leg" Fuchs with both using the front rim hoops from the Polar lights funny cars (grinding out the center section).

In the group pic, the single, super skinny tire/crableg is the larger Tamiya center section.
