Cato
I'm sure the expected price is way low-even with a thorough tear-down and engine rebuild needed: http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2014/06/19/164-jaguar-e-type-barn-find-has-bugatti-racing-pedigree/?intcmp=features
Harry P.
I'm amazed that there are still "undiscovered" E-Types sitting in barns! What a find.
Joe Handley
I'm amazed to find that every time I access Fox News from my phone and the Ghostery app for my Firefox browser picks up 3-4 times as many attempts to track me as any other site I've visited. sjordan2
Meanwhile, back to the subject. I truly am surprised that there is no rust on the exterior after all these years. The only reason this car remains an icon is because of its unsurpassed styling. Under the skin, it's a bucket of unreliable bolts and sloppy craftsmanship, and even Coiln Chapman once said that Jaguars, going back to the C-Class, are race cars with about a 3-year life expectancy. Anyone who owned a Series 1 3.8 E-Type with its horrible Moss gearbox can tell you it was a total piece of junk. Having had some experience behind the wheel of a Series 2 4.2, I can tell you it wasn't much better and was not ready for the road or long-term ownership. Tom Geiger
did anyone see the absolutely rusty hulk XKE that Richard found on Fast & Loud? Apparently sold it to some Brit for $6800 plus shipping... can't imagine even attempting to restore that one!

Under the skin, it's a bucket of unreliable bolts and sloppy craftsmanship. Tell me about it. My former boss bought a really pretty red '69 XKE DHC at Barrett-Jackson one year for $36k; the guys on TV were oohing and aahing over how clean and good running it was. Once he got it home it took another $10k with a Jag specialist to get it sorted out to be a decent driver. Sure was a rush to ride in, though... thinkbig
IMHO it's a fake. Air plenum is 4.2 litre. So is the dash and centerconsole. Some guys try to reach higher prices of so called "barn finds". It is weathering in 1/1 scale.
