What did you see on the road today?

Recommended Posts

I see this Cobra all the time.  At the next red light, I was in the middle lane, a pickup changed to the outside lane which merges just after the intersection, the normal routine for that move is to drag race to the merge, so I shut the door.  Cobra driver romped on it, sounded so sweet blowing my doors off. ?

51 Hudson, been sitting here since at least the late 90s, the automotive shop it’s sitting at has been abandoned since the mid 00s. Very rough but all there, I would hope the fender skirts are in trunk, straight 6 is still there but hood is so rusted I didn’t want to pry it open. Last registered in 1963 according to plate,

That Hudson is AWESOME! ?. I want it!

On a slightly different note, today’s sighting from uptown Brooklyn was certainly ‘different’

Nice 6-door too - although I hope it had air con or the driver has probably cooked to death after the temperatures here today

I have always thought these were an interesting car. A family friend gave me a ride in one around 10960 or 1961. I got in and sat down and he said we would have to wait a minute for the suspension to adjust to me being in the car. Then we drove off on the ride, very smooth riding car.

I remember riding around Paris in these as taxi cabs. This was back in late 1960s. As a kid I was impressed with the single spoke steering wheel.

I was in the 'burbs of Chicago so this was really an odd duck at that time. I recall the steering wheel now that you mention it. The seats were nice and soft and I couldn't reach the dash board. When I got out he had to wait for the air suspension to react before he could drive off. As I recall the fit and finish was much better than the Detroit Iron everyone else was driving including my fathers '56 Chevy.

Wonder if he has step ladders or rope ladders to get in/out..

Not yet...

Talked to him the other night and watched him jump climb in; grabs door and seat, braces left foot on tire and heaves himself up  ^_^

Reminded me of an old Dodge I saw in a parade- with front and back steering axles, he had it crabbing down the road. Jumped out and just stepped on a cleat to lift himself back up to the cab. Wish I had a pic.
