'69 big block. Wonder how many they made in black.

Nice clean car! It's known around 700 '68's were painted black or Tuxedo Black in GM parlance, it's code 900 on the trim tag. The exact number of black '69's isn't known but I'd guess around the same as '68. In all my years of messing with early Corvettes I've only seen a handful of black 68 or 69 cars. Here is a '68 still wearing it's original black paint, I almost bought this car when I saw it!

That’s a posh area you live in Pat. 😄

I find a Beetle and you get a Bentley,

steve

Embarrassing, We have two Bentayga's around about here! Neither are ours! We also used to have a number of VW Beetles over the years too!

An orange McLaren, yellow Lamborghini, a dayglo green Auston Martin,  5 Ferrari's in black and red, and umteen hundred Porsches in all flavors.  Yup, just another trip up the 405 and 101 from San Diego to Camarillo to pickup the grandson.

I saw one of these today, and in this same color! Now I’m not sure why it was around the Chicago area, as these were California only and a total production run of just under 2500 over 3 years.

Probably because of open borders and freedom of movement. :D

Not on the road, but saw this in the Royal Alberta Museum in the Human History exhibit. The whole exhibit is about Alberta's growth. I guess this represents farm life and prosperity or something.

Whatever the case, a nicely preserved truck. Says it has been restored, but it's not an over the top, show quality restoration.

I like hearing about the stories behind vehicles too.

What is it?

Thanks

Yup, 2012-2014 RAV-4 EV, it's a California Compliance Car and they built less than 2500 over those 3 years.  It's kinda like the Fiat 500e and Toyota Mirai H2 car, only sold in CA, but now are finding their way into the rest of the lower 48 as used cars.  At least it and the 500e aren't a hydrogen car like the Mirai is thought, lot easier to find an outlet or charging station vs a hydrogen station!
