What did you see on the road today?

Recommended Posts

Driving into town yesterday cruising up the interstate I spotted a pickup with a blue oval on the tailgate.  Didn't recognize the body shape, thought maybe it was a new Ranger.  As I got closer, I realized it was one of those mythical Ford Maverick pickups.  Couldn't get a picture since I was running slightly above the posted.  That is the first one I have seen in the flesh out in the public.  Fairly neat little truck, lots of possibilities with Day 2 in mind.

Cage, huge bolsters and Hoosier-daddies on it so gets used, hard. 👍🏼Mk2, so not a lot of fakes. Safir did some off original tooling. Nice, glad to see it.
Hang a dealer plate on it, you can drive anything on street 🤣. Ask me how I know.

Which yellow thing?
Yellow and black thing has 442 lettering on door. Unconvincing. Pale yellow Cutlass and a Yellow C10.
There’s also a yellow 54 3100 behind office. And a Bug. And an SL next door.
100 degrees and I’m bored. DA52D9BA-6534-4A45-AD2E-0646B4A990B1.jpeg.ee464b54251cefbdee312386c2cc07e0.jpeg

Northwest Duece Days is in town this weekend, these photos were from yesterday. There is about 1400 cars that will be in the show today, plus several hundred hot rods and muscle cars both local and folks that are in town to check out the festivities. My best guess is that there is about 2000 hot cars in town this weekend. These are some photos from the poker run and the cruising downtown on Belleville st.

Poker run…

Had business in Daytona Beach yesterday, saw quite a few things, but only managed to get a pic of this '70s style van. Something you don't see much on the road anymore! These two race car replicas were in a little building next to where I took the van photo.

All of his cars seem to be under valued

Watch his You Tube channel. A good portion of his stuff it utter junk. Obvious bondo over rust, etc. I guess you can sell used cars in Tennessee without basic safety equipment present and/or operating because many of his cars have burned out lights. I have seen some with missing or nonfunctional seatbelts. Also, he plays the "Does the horn work?" game with almost every test drive.

Yes, I will check it out. The south is infamous for rebuilding flood damaged cars, total wrecks, and odometer fraud. I went with a friend to check out a used 1989 Mustang. I insisted that the car be put up on a rack so we could look at.

It had rusted drivers' floor pan and had plywood placed under the carpet to hide the holes in the floor pan. The right wheel well was rusted through, and it looked like some sort of steel wool was shoved into holes. Last but not least the oil pan drain plug was stripped.

The car looked great detailed out to the max. Buyer beware!!!
