The whole front subframe for the GT6 was rusted away when we got it. I remember standing in the junkyard as my father and late uncle rolled the Spitfire nose up to it. Dad must've attached it sometime soon afterwards, then it was moved up back. It's got the Spit engine in it right now. I'm currently looking at Rover V8 engines for it, but it'll have a LeMans Spitfire fiberglass nose on it with the streamlined headlight covers.

Had a great weekend. The weather was great! Mid-June weather in early-May. Went to the local Buick club sponsored car show yesterday. Sponsored by the Buick club, but open to all makes. First big outdoor car show around here every spring. Great turn out. Saw some great cars and had a fun time. The swap meet was huge, but I found nothing I needed. Which was not necessarily a bad thing.

Friday I went to my first Minnesota Twins game since they moved into their new open air stadium a couple of years ago. I'm not a big sports fan, but I enjoy going to see a game every once in while. Not the best game I've ever seen, but WOW! What a beautiful stadium! Baseball back outdoors where it belongs. A prefect night for a game. Just cool enough to require a light jacket. A nice very light breeze. Cool, but comfortable (more May than June here). A near full moon raising over downtown Minneapolis as the sun set. It was great!

I too had a good "car related" weekend as I went with a buddy to our model car club meeting on Friday night. On Saturday I attended an "Open House" event put on by a local performance restoration shop. And yesterday I hooked up with my buddy and his son and we cruised in our rides to a car & bike show located at a Hooters Restaurant.

The Inverness (FL) Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans celebration began Thursday, April 30, 2015 with a motorcycle escort of the Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall from the Crystal River Mall to Wallace Brooks Park in Inverness. We had 325 bikes and about 45 cars. The Wall was then setup and made available for viewing.

Saturday morning, May 2, 2015 we held the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans parade in Inverness. My group, the Vietnam Veterans Gathering, was the 2nd walking unit in the parade so I don't know how many people were behind us. Opening ceremonies were held in Liberty Park.

Sunday afternoon we held the closing ceremonies in Wallace Brooks Park. The city manager was informed that the park will now be known as The Wall Park.

Over 10,000 people came to The Wall Park to visit The Wall. We had fabulous weather, a great turnout, shed many tears and hundreds and hundreds of welocome home brother and hugs. IT WAS GREAT!!!!!

I'd like to gain 'bout ten pounds and wish I could help you out. Guess I'll just have to "load up" on the chow when I go to Portillo's for lunch tomorrow.

Man, I just gained 2 pounds just thinking about Portello's. What great food.

Got my computer back from the shop, lost data restored, and a separate massive internal backup drive installed to head off any future hair-pullers like this last one.

The two guys who run the place are pretty sharp and really great about eating anything they don't get exactly right, which is why I don't mind paying them well for good work. One of their underlings lost most of the backup of my drive, but had apparently just forgotten what the files were named...and didn't notice that only 40 gigs of the hundreds of gigs on the old drive made it to the new one. The data was all on the shop server, just disjointed and mixed randomly with other stuff (photos under a Nikon program coming up as Word files in some cases???)...somehow...but seems to be back in place now.

I have been struggling for awhile to get my weight below 200 lbs. Got on the scale this morning and saw 199.6. I made it ! Now my doctor will probably say "Ok, now lets shoot for 180 ! ".

Good for you!

As of last week Wednesday I have lost 35 pounds since January. On purpose even!
