Lancia Stratos

Hello from Morristown NJ

I always liked the Lancia Stratos and picked up a Hasegawa kit. But, it's curbside and I wanted to add an engine.

First thing I did was to scribe and cut open the hatch

Then I transplanted a Ferrari engine from a Fujima Dino kit - closest thing I could think of for a proper engine for the Stratos

Next, added some seatbelts

Really like the Alitalia livery on the car

And here's the completed car with some Italian cousins, Fiat 131's

Beautiful work. I've been thinking about getting one of the Hasegawa racers to go with the Fujimi Enthusiast Stradale I built a few years back. The Stratos is one of my favorite cars... there's just something about the cartoonish proportions and overall insane nature of the little beast that really appeals to me.

Great subject, Great model. I think you picked the perfect engine for the Stratos. The only thing might not be correct is the Air plenum/box. It's better to separate the rear deck even if you build it OOB because you do not have to spread the body in the final assembly(note warning in instructions). You can put the chassis in from the back then put the deck on.

I think you're right about the air plenum/box. Looking at photos they may have just left the top of the engine exposed.
