The 4 door big bodys started out as all american LIMOS, and were cut and made into 4 doors. and then cast, then the 2 doors were made from them. These were mastered by TWINN on the layitlow.com models forum. ALSO- these are considerably less than AAM resin big bodies, AAM go for upwards of 300-500.00. The casters of these are commig very close to the cost of making them, when you factor in the mold material, resin material etc. AND they are as clean, if not cleaner than AAM. The only reason these are up for sale on "feebay" is so that people outside of the forum in which the master`er/caster is most prominent have an opportunity to get them. I've finally handled a Twinn's casting (not of a Cadillac) finally last week and was pretty impressed. Props for having a set price instead of letting it be run up by overzealous bidders. It's desirable subject matter, I would build it if I knew it was at least R and R quality, and since it sounds like it's NOT a copy of a copy of a copy, it may be good news then. I would like to see a quality Caddy available, and not the kind which you would see with crime scene tape all over it either, something which could be built stock. It is an interesting way to justify him knocking it off though. I don't think you need to grind out my work to make it fit together either, based on your own review. We're now close to being up to date on older orders, and new orders are going out within a week. And it not just one person buying it, but several different orders. Just can't plan for that. I don't think I have any orders that haven't been filled, it always gets out of here, but slowly at times. The VW is one of those items that need the time, now I'm starting to get a little. I have close to 20 kits to put in rubber, but molds, and patterns take time. Or you could sell you product as you cast it and have it available so you can get it out right away. Simply put, I wound up spending far too much time at it, seldom less than 12-14 hours a day, counting casting, cleaning parts, packaging and shipping kits, fixing masters, making or working up new masters, all of that. Frankly, it go to the point that when I would even go out for dinner with friends, the finest steaks in town tasted like resin, potato chips looked just like the pieces of flash that fell on the floor in the molding room, and I couldn't even get the odor of resin out of my clothes. I had no hobby anymore, and no time or energy for one either. Even after closing it down, and going to work for a salary again, it was almost a year before I could even pick up a model car kit, break it open, and seriously do anything with it--and it's still a modeling block problem today, 8 years later. So, if you see any AAM kit out there on the 'Bay, or one that looks like it, it's either one that someone hasn't built yet, or a recast done by someone else.
