I'm gonna try and make it seem like an old daily driven car you'd see on the side of the road while going to some nice destination on your mini van with your family! 426-Hemi Posted November 12, 2014 Share Posted November 12, 2014 Looks great! My only complaint isn't with your work 1 its the model itself! Not something you can easily change tho. BUT as a 440 or well anything Mopar "Big Block, 383 to 440, the heads and the valve covers don't even look like they should for such, BUT they do come close for a "After Market" part! mrmike Posted November 15, 2014 Share Posted November 15, 2014 Adrian is correct about the engine color. The actual color for the '68 440 is Chrysler Engine Turquoise. Chrysler Engine Blue was not used until 1972. But, this is your Charger and you can build it any way you want and it is looking real good so far. Keep up the good work! I got a new lens for my sweet old momma so i got a little picture friendly, anyways, heres some more progress, finally getting ready to paint the enterior! thanks for sticking along, more progress to come soon! CJ1971 Posted November 16, 2014 Share Posted November 16, 2014 (edited) You're doing a wonderful job on the weathering! 68-70 Chargers are my favourite Mopar & muscle car ??? If I could offer a little bit of advice, that would add a little bit more realism & it appears you haven't glued the headers to the exhaust pipes yet... maybe attach the exhaust pipes to the headers with glue, allow it to dry solid, then saw off the pipes where they join the headers ( like on a 1:1 ) . Then when you've put it all together ( the body/chassis ) you can attach the exhaust pipes to the headers & you won't have a dodgey ( no pun intended ) looking exhaust. Thanks for the tip cj1971, I was actually trying to find a way to fix that awkward looking exhaust! The color scheme will be a red exterior on white interior, but ofcourse, they will be very very used and abused!c: Im thinking rust on most wheel openings on the fenders, maybe a bit of rust on the left quarter panel and a different color trunk door and the right door will be painted white with signs of rust, the hood will be the same red as most of the parts, Im thinking maybe mixing the right red with a but ofwhite to make it seem as if the color has faded a bit!
