Background diorama / Flatheads to Boxers Engine Rebuilders : new tool, new room

I've decided to make some sort of back ground to take photos in or in front of. It'll go here, on an old sewing machine cabinet, next to the door to my shop. It'll be open on two sides and above to allow some lighting.

I know that in time I'll be asked to get it out of there so I'm making it so it can be dismantled easily. I cut two gooves into the base to hold the walls and made a locking block to keep them in place.

The easy part being done, I primed the floor then I'll "pave" it with 150 grit sandpaper which will likely be painted gray.

I was thinking of decorating this as a spare room of an engine rebuilding shop, with shelves, benches, blocks & trannies laying around.

Here's where I'm at with it. It is large enough that I can add goodies but still have a plain background for WIP photos if needed. I like to think of it as a "clean storage" room of an engine rebuilding shop. I'd like to eventually display all sorts of engines there. I put my projects there when I need the bench for something else.

Added a few goodies. Installed the door. Wood frame is stained and drying. Made several pallets. Made a sign with the name of the outfit. Nothing to write home about but having fun. :)

And yes, the TransAm engine will get cleaned up and the seams filled.

Those of you who saw my thread on the '34 Chevy will remember I used the spare tire fender wells of a 1930 Packard Metal Master kit.

Well, its engine has been dechromed and will be the next one in the display.

When my wife saw the two little pictures she said "What about the others?", the other being four other collector cars I have owned in the past. So I hung them up too. 1931 Ford Model A, 1940 Packard 110 Touring sedan, 1964 Studebaker GT Hawk and 1947 Olds L78 Fastback sedan.

Assembled the three items I got from Scale Equipment the other day.

I had built the CAT 1160 for the race car hauler but it won't fit under the N600 cab so I made it a dolly and it will reside here until it finds a truck to go into.

In looking for a large Ford gas engine to replace the CAT I found one in the Ed Roth '56 pickup kit, except it is a 292 and wasn't found in trucks. So it'll go here too. Started on it. Also noticed a mistake while preparing the photos for posting. That is easily fixable.\
